Constitution of Diaspora Nation
We the people of the Diaspora Nation, united by our heritage, resilience and shared experience, have established this Constitution to guide our nation and forge our own future — with dignity, solidarity, wealth and strength.
Article I
Identity & Purpose
- Unite African and Caribbean descendants living across the diaspora
- Promote mutual assistance and solidarity among citizens
- Preserve and celebrate African, Caribbean and diasporan heritage
- Protect, serve, support and uplift diasporan communities worldwide
- Encourage economic, educational and cultural advancement
- Create global jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities
Article II
Citizenship
- Full Citizenship for those of Black African or Caribbean descent who take the Oath of Allegiance
- Nation Supporter Citizenship for allies who support and respect the nation's values
- Citizenship through marriage or long-term partnership with a full citizen
- All citizens are treated equally, without discrimination
Article III
Rights of Citizens
- Equal treatment within the nation
- Mutual assistance from fellow citizens when possible
- Participation in national initiatives
- Respectful expression of ideas and opinions
- Fair mediation in disputes
- Opportunities for education, collaboration and advancement
Article IV
Responsibilities of Citizens
- Uphold the Constitution and respect all fellow citizens
- Offer assistance to other citizens whenever able
- Protect the security and reputation of the nation
- Safeguard confidential national information
- Promote unity within the diaspora
Article V
Protection of Children
- Children of citizens are automatically citizens and receive special protection
- Protect children from physical or mental harm
- Support their growth and development wherever possible
- Assist families with children whenever possible
Articles VI–IX
Governance & Identity
- The Diasporan Council represents citizens and upholds the Constitution
- Sensitive national information must remain confidential
- A Diaspora Nation Passport is issued to every citizen
- Amendments may be proposed by any citizen and reviewed by the Council
The Oath of Allegiance
All citizens are required to affirm the following oath.
- 1I swear allegiance to the Diaspora Nation and to uphold its values.
- 2I swear to always be ready to help fellow citizens whenever possible.
- 3I swear to treat fellow citizens with respect at all times.
- 4I swear to offer my service to the Diaspora Nation whenever possible.
- 5I swear never to divulge sensitive information to non-citizens.
- 6I swear to treat every citizen as an equal at all times.
- 7I swear never to discriminate against a fellow citizen.
- 8I swear to always respect and protect the Diaspora Nation Flag.
- 9I swear to offer any resources I have to help fellow citizens.
- 10I swear to help and protect the children of the Diaspora Nation.
- 11I swear to help and protect our elderly citizens.
- 12I take this oath of my own free will and pledge my loyalty and service.
